float:left on span-x classes breaks layout

Reported by Greg Hazel | August 8th, 2010 @ 08:11 AM

The float:left on a span-x class seem to break vertical alignment between labels and input fields.

(Markdown sucks: http://codepad.org/MeKFSboX )

For example, this aligns the label and input with the top of the row, which looks terrible:

 Name:

 <input id="name" name="name" type="text>

however, this has proper vertical alignment:

 Name:

 <input id="name" name="name" type="text>
