span-24 and append-bottom

I don't know if this is a bug or not, but when i use span-24 and append-bottom class with the same div element, span-24 override margin-bottom of append-bottom.
Beacause in span-24 class margin is set to zero.

Could you provide any code examples of this problem? or possibly even some screenshots?

I have just discovered the same problem using Blueprint 0.9.1 - can you confirm what the fix is?
I can workaround the problem by inserting " " characters. This is a horrific solution, but it solves my immediate problem - unfortunately I'm no CSS expert, especially at cross-browser problems!
For illustration, this fails to render correctly under IE7, but works find under FF3.5:
